Every day, Woodbury animal shelters rescue abandoned, neglected, and abused animals. They provide them with a safe haven and find them forever families. If you would like to support their mission, here are a few shelters near our Woodbury apartments that you can help from home:
Minnesota Boxer Rescue
A foster-based organization, the Minnesota Boxer Rescue works to re-home boxers for a second chance at life. It provides any necessary medical care and educates adoptive families about the breed to ensure success. To help, consider shopping from the rescue’s Amazon Wish List. Your purchase will ship to Minnesota Boxer, and requested items include leashes, nylon collars, and food bowls.
At Animal Ark, all of the residents are unique. That’s why it strives to “pair one-in-a-million pets with one-in-a-million families.” Established in 1977, it became the first no-kill shelter in Minnesota. The animals receive TLC, and Animal Ark ensures they find the right homes. Online donations are accepted in any amount. The money helps with food and medical care and allows the volunteers to meet the animals’ behavioral and social needs.
A volunteer-based organization, Feline Rescue opened in 1997 to save the homeless and endangered cats in our community. It cares for all of its residents until they find forever homes. Like the other Woodbury animal shelters, the rescue accepts online donations. The money pays for basic needs such as bedding, medications, toys, and other animal necessities. You can also purchase food directly through Royal Canin, which will ship to the shelter.
