Whether you enjoy listening to Mozart or today’s newest composers, multiple Minnesota orchestras offer online performances you don’t want to miss. When you ready for a night of music, here are a few companies that you can enjoy from our Woodbury apartments:

Minneapolis Pops Orchestra

Since 1950, the Minneapolis Pops Orchestra has offered summertime concerts at Lake Harriet. It features 45 musicians who play everything from the horn to the cello. They boast years of experience, and “bring the power of live orchestra music to the Twin Cities Community at no charge.” The orchestra’s digital season offers plenty of action. Don’t miss the trombone players as they perform from a boat and other exciting shows.

Minnesota Orchestra

The Minnesota Orchestra first performed in 1903, just six weeks before the Wright Brothers made their unprecedented airplane flight. Today, this Grammy Award-winning orchestra is one of America’s top symphony ensembles. The musicians perform to audiences around the world. They are committed to building an orchestral repertoire of tomorrow, and no two shows are the same. The At Home series features driveway performances, backyard concerts, and interviews with the musicians.

Mankato Symphony Orchestra

Celebrating seventy years, the Mankato Symphony Orchestra became a reality after local school superintendents hired violinist, John Dennis. His job was to create an orchestra program for the school system. When he discovered the community was home to several adult string players, the symphony was born. It quickly became popular. The first official performance had nearly 1,100 people, and many of the concerts were often standing room only. Today, fans can enjoy the music on the orchestra’s YouTube channel. Songs include Schubert Symphony No. 9, Mendelssohn Symphony No. 4, and much more.

If the performances from Minnesota orchestras inspire you to play, enjoy virtual music classes offered by a local school. To become a resident of Valley Creek, please contact us. We’ll arrange a tour so you can discover the resident amenities that our apartments in Woodbury have to offer.
