Enjoy a Night of Food and Bocce Ball at These Local Restaurants

Two middle aged women playing bocce ball on a sunny afternoon

Did you know that bocce ball originated before the establishment of the civilized world? The game involves two teams trying to get their ball as close to the jack as possible. If you would like play, head to one of these restaurants near Valley Creek Luxury Living Apartments where you’ll find year-round bocce courts and made-from-scratch meals:

Village Pub

Village Pub is a neighborhood eatery where the atmosphere is lively and the beer is always ice cold. It’s open late into the night, and the bocce courts are open Friday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. The pub offers seasonal leagues. Also, you can go watch Minnesota’s sports teams in action. In the kitchen, the chefs make the dishes from the finest ingredients. Offerings include Nashville hot chicken, black bean burgers, and pineapple barbecue pulled pork.

Half Time Rec

Featured in the movie Grumpy Old Men, Half Time Rec was recently named the “Best Irish Bar” by MSP Magazine. Bocce players can head to the basement where they’ll find two courts that can accommodate leagues and large groups. The game is a decades-old tradition at Half Time Rec, and it’s not to be missed. In between plays, visitors can enjoy authentic Irish dinners with a pint of Guinness. Choices include shepherd’s pie, fish and chips, and bangers and mash.

Pinstripes

Nestled in nearby Edina, Pinstripes offers a night of bocce ball fun. The best time to play is Sunday through Thursday from 9:00 p.m. until close. The menu features Italian American fare made from delicious ingredients. Offerings include boneless short ribs, veggie burgers, and open-faced salmon sandwiches.

Along with these restaurants, Valley Creek Luxury Living Apartments is also fun places to relax between meals. Head to Sencha Tea Bar for a custom latte and a great place to meet up with old friends.
