Understanding Laundry Cycles in Our Laundry Room

Doing the laundry is something of an art form. When you are able to do your laundry right, you immediately know the difference. The next time you set out to do some laundry at our luxury Woodbury apartments with on-site laundry, use these tips to your advantage.

Cold water is the setting that you want to use on your gentle and more delicate items. This will help keep their integrity, and make sure they do not warp or shrink when you are cleaning them.

Warm water should be used for brighter colors as well as whites. The warm water will remove all of the dirt and grime and getting your clothes looking beautiful as new.

When you have a piece of clothing that has some serious stains, you want to wash it with hot water. This setting should be used for any items that need a little bit of extra attention to help get them looking great.

When it comes to loading the washer, you want to make sure that you do not overload it. The more clothing you pack in, the harder the machine has to work and the more unlikely it is that your clothes will get clean.

Similarly, you do not want to under load the machine either. When you do not put enough in the machine, you are essentially wasting water and energy. Avoid this by always doing a moderately sized load of laundry.

When you are drying your clothes, toss a clean towel in with your laundry. The towel will absorb excess moisture and help the rest of your laundry to dry faster. You can also use a damp towel in the dryer to eliminate other clothing’s wrinkles.
