It’s the perfect time of year to get your Michelle Kwan on and skate! Don’t stay inside as the weather gets colder; break out those skates because it’s time to hit the rink! Here are two excellent venues for skating in Woodbury near Valley Creek Apartments.

Lily Lake Ice Arena at St. Croix Recreation Center

While it is also used by local high schools, Lily Lake leans more towards public use and boasts a 300ft by 244ft dome field house. For only $5 entry (and $3.25 if you need to rent skates) you can get on the ice solo or with friends. The rink is open Monday through Friday, 6am to 10pm. Check the online schedule for weekend hours. Not fully kitted out yet? No problem, the pro shop is here to make sure you have all the gear you need.

St. Croix Recreation Center provides other active opportunities including competitive youth soccer leagues, adult hockey leagues, and group skating lessons.

HealthEast Sports Center

Though arguably a humbler venue than others at 200ft by 85ft, HealthEast still provides some of the best skating in Woodbury. Similar to Lily Lake, it is widely used by local schools and the general community. There are two opportunities for public use: open skating and the outdoor refrigerated rink.

Open skating is available to all ages and skill levels. Admission is only $7 and skate rentals are $6. This time of year you also have to check out the outdoor refrigerated rink! Complete with a fireplace and free admission, this full-sized rink is perfect for parties and events. It’s available by reservation or drop-in from 6am to 10pm.

What are you waiting for? Get out there and skate! For any questions or comments about our apartments or the community in Woodbury, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We love hearing from you.
