Whether you have a taste for huevos rancheros, a hot turkey sandwich, or a chef’s salad, visit one of the following cafes where you can enjoy these meals and more:

The Buttered Tin

Founder Alicia Hinze began her pastry career when she attended the patisserie and baking program at Le Cordon Bleu. Since graduating, she has opened The Buttered Tin and appeared on the Food Network’s Cupcake Wars where she took first place. The cafe has a four-star rating on Yelp as guests enjoy the quaint atmosphere, friendly service, and delicious meals such as Bananas Foster French Toast, Huevos Rancheros Benedict, and Pork Belly Hoagies.

Black Dog Cafe

Located on the southeast corner of the St. Paul’s Farmers Market Square, the Black Dog Cafe is known as an all-day gathering spot. It opens daily at 7:00 a.m. and guests can enjoy their meal inside or out. Musical guests entertain on most evenings, especially on Saturdays when the cafe hosts “Jazz at the Black Dog” featuring the Twin Cities’ best jazz musicians. The cooks prepare an array of dishes including Beet and Goat Cheese Salad, Margarita Pizza, and Roast Beef Hash.

Cook

Owner Eddie Wu grew up in St. Paul, and it’s where he began working in the restaurant industry as a dishwasher. After serving five years in the Marines, he transitioned into restaurant management, and later realized his dream of opening his own restaurant. The chefs at Cook make all of the dishes in-house from locally sourced ingredients, and the menu features both traditional American fare and Korean fusion dishes. Options include French Toast, Spicy Korean Burgers, and General Khan’s Fried Chicken.
