The Saint Paul Winter Carnival 2018 Begins on January 25th

There is so much more to January in Saint Paul than playing in the snow! Locals have looked forward to the Saint Paul Winter Carnival every year since 1886. Over seventeen days, the city hosts a fun and fantastical array of activities spread throughout the city. The Saint Paul Winter Carnival 2018 runs from January 25th through February 10th. All events are an easy drive from our Valley Creek Apartments.

Saint Paul Winter Carnival 2018

The carnival is the oldest winter festival in the United States! In the fall of 1885, several Eastern newspaper correspondents visited Minnesota and returned home to report that the state was another Siberia and unfit for habitation. Local businesses responded by creating a winter festival that highlighted the beauty of Minnesota’s winters. Today it welcomes thousands of visitors yearly.
