Valley Creek Apartments is just a short drive away from a true local gem, the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory. In addition to their fun and interactive animal exhibits, the Como Park Zoo features a variety of beautiful gardens and a marketplace. The zoo aims to inspire the public and to foster a connection between local residents and their environment.
Animal Exhibits at the Como Park Zoo
At the Como Park Zoo, you can get up close and personal with the animals. You can even feed romaine lettuce to their resident giraffe family at the Giraffe Feeding Station. Be sure to check out the Ribbit Zibit, an exhibition dedicated to the preservation of frogs. Enclosed exhibits include tigers, the ostriches, and the snow leopards; they are perennial favorites at the zoo!
Take a stroll to the Tropical Encounters, a $2.1 million exhibit designed to accurately replicate a Central and South American rainforest. It is lush and absolutely breathtaking to experience. If the views aren’t enough, you’ll get to meet stingrays, river turtles, fish, birds, an anaconda, and Chloe the sloth.
Plant Exhibits and Gardens
Visiting the Como Park Zoo wouldn’t be complete without a walk through their spectacular gardens. The Sunken Garden features beautiful, fragrant floral shows all year round. An elegant pool of water runs through the center of the space, thus creating a serene environment.
Another particularly stunning area to visit is the Charlotte Partridge Ordway Japanese Garden. This beautiful garden is designed according to traditional Japanese principles and features unique sculptures and water features. It is a symbol of friendship between Saint Paul and its Japanese sister city, Nagasaki.
The Como Park Zoo and Conservatory is just one of the many amazing parks that make Woodbury a great place to live. Are you looking to make your home in the neighborhood? Please contact us today for more information and to schedule a tour of Valley Creek Apartments.Back to all posts
